✍️ Trip Report
We took the tram up Saturday afternoon and had lunch overlooking the Coachella Valley before starting the hike around 1:20. The kids carried their own small packs with snacks and stuffed animals while we hauled the gear. Just 2.5 miles in, we reached our campsite — a quiet spot nestled above a peaceful meadow.
The kids played for hours, collecting sticks, inventing games, and racing across the open field. Dinner was easy: mac and cheese followed by hot chocolate under a blanket of stars. With full bellies and tired legs, we turned in early.
The next morning, we made coffee and oatmeal while the sun came up over the ridge. By 10:40, we were back down the trail and sipping cold drinks, already planning our next trip. We capped it off with a well-earned stop at In-N-Out.
🌱 Seed Planting
This trip plants the seed for future adventures—perhaps one day backpacking to Little Round Valley (4.2 miles) or even summiting over 10,000 feet. It builds confidence, fosters a love for the outdoors, and creates unforgettable bonding moments with your child.
